Why Is Piilo Called Piilo?

Such a cool question. OK so right at the beginning of our journey, helping the world to halve their screen time inside the (free forever) MindUnwired Community, we thought about what kind of a product would support our community members. And, at a fundamental level, what should this product actually do. Apart from being Conspicuously Beautiful, tactile and easy to use.

The first thing we wrote down was that our product should actually hide your phone! The out of sight out of mind thing. So you don't do that screen-tap-tap-tap thing we're all tempted to do as we pass our phone on the desk or table. It's almost as if we're looking for a distraction!

Piilo is where your phone sleeps. The name is a play on the English, 'pillow'. And in Finnish, Piilo means 'hideaway' - a subtle reference to hiding the distractions that your phone presents. So there you go. That's why Piilo is called Piilo!
